Choosing Your Wedding Venue - Newlands Bishop Farm

BLOG

Introduction

If you are looking for a different venue for your special day then Newlands Bishop Farm is the place to go.  It’s a hidden gem of charm, character and relaxation nestled in the Warwickshire countryside.  You can have a festival style celebration or a cosy intimate gathering.  Either way this is another special wedding venue in the heart of the county.  And a special place for your celebrant led wedding too.

About

Newlands Bishop Farm is not just a unique wedding venue but a farm run by the charity, the Family Care Trust which supports adults with learning disabilities and mental health conditions.  There are farm animals, fields, mature woodlands and learning opportunities via the links with Sollihull College.  Therefore when you choose this wedding venue you are supporting an amazing cause too.

You will be able to view wildflower meadows, visit the animals and wander about the mature woodland.  There are areas where you can sit outside and a lovely cafe to have your drink and something to eat in when you go a visit to see if it is right for your wedding..

Your Wedding Venue

When you choose Newlands as your wedding venue you get a blank canvas to put your stamp on for your truly bespoke wedding.  Think elegant boho chic, intimate woodland or fun triple hat tipi celebrations, the choice is yours.  Imagine fairy lights hanging all around your tipi tent.  Or lights hanging in the tress to guide you as you walk down the path to the woodland circle where you will say ‘I do’, surrounded by all your family and friends.

Bunting is placed along the fences and hay bales are dotted around the outside area, offering seating for those guests, up to 120 of them,  who want to relax in the sunshine with their glass of champagne.

There is the large tipi which you are able to decorate in your style and your colours.  Bunting, flowers, table dressings and more.

There is no sit down silver service wedding breakfast here - you will be arranging your own food in conjunction with the farm, which can range from your choice of food vans to the fire pit, in the tipi or alfresco.

For the moment in time when you say ‘I do’, the woodland area lends itself to a celebrant led ceremony.  A place where your guests will be seated on benches.  Where the bride walks down a path which is festooned with flowers, ribbons or lights and won’t be seen until the last minute when she enters the wedding space.  The couple then have a celebrant tell their story, maybe including a symbolic ritual, before returning to the open area in front of the tipi.

If the weather is not being kind to you, then you can arrange to have your ceremony inside the tipi instead, in the warm and dry.

As the bride and groom you have the ability and opportunity to put your stamp and personality on this venue for your special day and create what you want for your very own unique wedding.  So what can you do?

The details

You are able to hire the triple hat tipi, along with exclusive use of the whole venue from 4 pm on the Friday afternoon, right through to Sunday at 4 pm.  Yes, the whole weekend!

Arrive to set up on the Friday, whether you are going d-i-y or your venue dressers and florists need to gain access, then on Saturday the finishing touches can be done.  Bales of hay with rugs to cover if required, tables, benches and chairs can be positioned and are all provided by the venue.  The venue will also arrange the benches in the woodland wedding area too.

There is a sound system in the tipi which can be used for any evening function you might have, with closure at 11 pm on Saturday.  Newlands Bishop Farm is also licensed.

You have a large outside area where outside games, including Jenga and Connect 4, can be assembled to keep young and old entertained whilst listening to live music, and because of the setting there are plenty of beautiful places to choose from to get those amazing photographs taken.

Other items provided by the venue include:

  1. Goat food for guests to feed the goats up to 5pm
  2. Giant 4ft LOVE letters,
  3. Use of a sweet cart - sweets not included.
  4. Wooden cake stand and cake knife,
  5. Wishing well for cards,
  6. Wooden easel,
  7. All glass wear.

Fully staffed and stocked bar where guests can pay cash or card on the day.  Drinks packages or corkage options are also available,
On-site coordinator for the run up planning and weekend wedding running.

On the Sunday you can return to dismantle anything that needs to go and finish the weekend with a bbq on site.  You will provide the food, but glasses etc are provided by Newlands Bishop Farm.

The full weekend package is approx £8,000, but they do offer a twilight package for approx £4,500 - please ask them for further details of this if it suits you more.

Just one final point to consider if you like the idea of a wedding in the woodlands - they only do 15 per year, so don’t leave it too late.

Why have your celebrant ceremony here

Although the venue is licensed for registrar led ceremonies and has a room for the registrar, the whole setting lends itself to a celebrant led wedding.  You can be outdoors, exchanging your personally written vows and commitments beneath a floral arch in the middle of a wildflower meadow.  Handfasting or jumping the broom are two symbolic rituals that a celebrant can incorporate into your personal ceremony and which will be beautiful in this setting.

Ask me how I would be able to lead your wedding in this stunning venue and you open a Pandora's box of inspiration, the possibilities are endless.
