Introduction
Newly engaged or several years down the line, choosing your wedding venue is one of the most important jobs a couple have to do when planning their wedding. There are so many decisions that have to be made before you even go visiting venues.
These decisions can include, but are not limited to, style, cost, number of people, is it licensed; is there an outside area; food; ease of access; getting ready rooms for the bridal party and so it goes on. Yet sometimes when you have decided on one important area for your wedding venue, the rest just seem to fall into place.
To license or not - that is the question.
How you want your wedding will dictate whether you go for a licensed venue or not. If you want a Registrar there on the day to conduct your ceremony, then you will need a licensed venue. Yet, if you want that more personalised ceremony and a Celebrant to lead it, then you do not need a licensed venue.
There are some wonderful unlicensed wedding venues within the beautiful county of Warwickshire and there is one special one in the spa town of Royal Leamington Spa.
Royal Leamington Spa
Situated in the heart of Warwickshire and next door to the County town of Warwick, it has a timeless beauty and rich history. Regency architecture can be seen everywhere and the wide Parade that goes right through the town shows this off to perfection. It can still boast of its Pump Rooms with its colonnaded frontage and its large park, Jephson Gardens, named in honour of Dr Henry Jephson lends itself to quiet walking in a tranquil setting.
Leamington Spa is home to a venue that captures the essence of elegance and charm and is a wonderful venue for your celebrant led wedding - The House and Orangery.
The House and Orangery
Tucked away just on the edge of the main Parade is this wedding venue with character. The House part showcases its period architecture and The Orangery gives you light, high ceilings and expansive windows through which the sun shines through. Side by side you get period architecture and a contemporary style of venue. On a glorious sunny day you have access to an outside area ideal for photos and drinks.
For the children who don’t want to stand still, there is also close by a play area to keep them occupied.
The House and Orangery do not hold the traditional wedding licence, feeling that they can provide exactly what couples need when looking for a personalised ceremony and wedding breakfast venue without one. That is where a celebrant can help.
So why should you choose The House and Orangery?
A Bespoke and Personal Experience
Sarah and her team will ensure that everything is tailored to your needs, whether small and intimate or large and extravagant. They will arrange for you to have up to 12 tables, seating up to 100 people set out in The Orangery whilst in the house part you can have the room set up for 100 people for your celebrant led ceremony. Or, if you want something else, then the team will work with you to achieve what you want.
Your hire covers 2 days. This allows either yourselves or your stylist and florist to produce a stunningly beautiful inside on the first day, for you to then enter for your unique celebrant led ceremony on the second day. So much time to get things perfect, rather than feeling you are being rushed.
Your Memory Keepsake
The floor to ceiling windows in The Orangery allow the room to be flooded with natural light - a gift for your photographer to capture some amazing photographs adding that natural radiance to your special moments. Yet during the evening when you have transformed the space for further entertainment there is a cosy feel and ambiance.
Intimate Yet Spacious
The House and Orangery gives wedding couples the perfect balance between intimacy and space. There is space to enable you to host weddings up to 100 people, yet the way it has been designed and set up means that if you’d like a smaller ceremony then it will feel warm and personal.
It is because of how adaptable this wedding venue is, that it has become a go to venue for couples who want something that is ‘a little bit different’.
Flexibility Counts
Because there are two connecting rooms here, your entire day can take place in one venue. Guests gather for canapes in the garden, before sitting down for your Celebrant led ceremony. Afterwards photos and drinks can be taken outside, before all gathering again in the Orangery for your sumptuous wedding breakfast and speeches, followed by your evening entertainment. This wedding venue’s versatility will ensure that every part of your day flows seamlessly.
Those Little Extras
Although you are able to arrange for your own cake to be made and delivered, the menu and all food and drink does need to be arranged with and ordered through The House and Orangery. They also have a bar for those all important drinks to be bought from, although all evening do’s have to end on the stroke of midnight!
In the House part there is a TV available for parties who want a rolling montage of pictures of the happy couple, their families and friends - such a lovely idea.
Yet, it’s not only available for weddings. The House and Orangery is also a perfect setting for vow renewals, naming ceremonies and also celebrations of life.
And finally…
If you are looking for a wedding venue where you can have your bespoke celebrant ceremony and make your memories then look no further than The House and Orangery. I’d be delighted to be part of your day. Let’s make it unforgettable.
